5 Nashville Artists, are featured in this three weekend event.
The art to be shown, mostly painting, varies widely in technique and
style from artist to artist and is sure to delight and inspire.

After graduating from Vanderbilt University with a degree in English,
working publishing, and marrying novelist Mike Lee, J. K. (Janet) Lee
found her way back to art. She works in watercolor and ink, decoupaging
elements into disparate backgrounds, often in other media. Janet finds
that this style both plays to her love of all things graphic, and
allows her to work around her active five-year-old Ethan. I have
always loved a good story, and I find that all art has a tale to tell.
I like to think of a painting in terms of poetry, or a story
interrupted, and I will often incorporate text in my work. The shape
and flow of the words are often as important as the image
itself.

Jessi Gonet weaves lighthearted stories through her quirky colorful
portraits of defiant animals and women. With some of her earliest
memories taking place in her Grandmother's studio, Jessi was never far
away from an easel in her youth. She has since earned a BFA in fine art
from Huntingdon College in Alabama and has exhibited at several
galleries in the Southeast. Her work reflects an appreciation for
soulful folk art, and a strong respect for feminine roll models. "I
believe art, like music, should tell a vibrant story with unique
consequences for every participant."

When Mar is not busy raising her two teen-age sons or spending time
with her two older Children and their families, she is "Making Art Happen" in Nashville.
Mar Augelli is an active member of the Nashville Arts Community
exhibiting her Work at the Tennessee Art League, The Plowhaus Gallery,
the 2004 Central South Arts Exhibition and was a First Place Prize
winner in Professional drawing and printmaking at the Wilson County
Fair Art Exhibition in 2005 and 2006. She is an active member on the
Board of Directors at the Tennessee Art League, the Plowhaus Artist
Cooperative in East Nashville and the PlateTone.

Twenty seven years ago John left his hometown of Florence, Alabama for
studies at Middle Tennessee. After receiving a Masters degree, he
married, had 2 daughters, and has work for the same establishment for
22 years. He is Board member of the Plowhaus Artist Cooperative. Art
has always been on my mind. With mouse in hand, I use the cursor as a
brush, moving and shoving pixels to create imaginary landscapes and
colorful, bellowing, star-filled skies

Jeff Goodwin is a Nashville area Painter. He has been a member of the
Plowhaus Artist Cooperative since mid-2006 and has also shown
frequently in other locations around Nashville such as with the
Untitled artist group. Jeff is also an accomplished musician. His
large contour face portraits in Acrylic, with respect to style, are
reminiscent of the "drip" technique of such artist as Jackson Pollock.
