the artists’

Sarah
Kaufman
is
an
East
Nashville
artist.
She
works in
oil,
painting
everything
from
portraits
to
landscapes
and
still life.
You may have
heard of Sarah
in an email
from her
Everyday
Painting
Project, on
her popular
website at
www.sarahkaufmanart.com,
at Plowhaus
Artist Co-op,
the Tennessee
Arts League,
or from the
classes in
drawing and
painting she
teaches at the
Hendersonville
Arts Council.
Sarah earned
her Bachelor
of Fine Art
and her Master
of Arts
in Teaching
from the
University of
Memphis. Her
paintings
blend
naturalistic
still life and
portraits with
painterly
symbolism,
mysterious
landscapes,
and the
occasional
thought
written in
pencil. She
believes that
"artwork
should celebrate
the ordinary
brilliance of
the world
around
us"

Beth
Seiters’
work is
derived
from
kept
journals.
Whether
it is a
described
idea
created
through
various
materials
or
an actual page
from a
journal, each
piece has a
sense of
subjectivity
that documents
daily thought.
Elements such
as
beeswax and
rusty nails
signify that
we, as human
beings, risk
the process of
longevity and
preservation.
Destruction
and
decomposition
is inevitable.
Beth lives in
east Nashville
with her
husband, John;
4-year old,
Frances;
3-month old, Jack;
and dog, Bleu.
Joe
Hardwick
A freelance
photographer,
local
art
host,
and art
contributor
for the
Nashville
art
scene,
Joe will
be
presenting
his
artistic side
with a series
of
"masked"
photographs.
This showing
is quite
different from
what he
normally
photographs
for
celebrities
and
advertising
agencies.
"This
series of
photographs
will hopefully
open a
dialogue and
peak the
interest of
the viewer.
Each image is
open to the
viewer's own
interpretation".
The images
have stark
qualities
that blur the
border of
reality and
the surreal.
The images are
large format
archival
prints.
Revealing the
diversity of
his
creative
nature and
photographic
talent, "
Masked "
is sure to
allure the
eyes of the
looker into an
adventure all
of its
own.

Jack
Coggins
Jack
invites
viewers
to enter
his
world of
vibrant
colors,
and
ever-changing
themes.
His
images
may at
any time
be
fantastic,
whimsical
or
thought
provoking.
A self
taught
painter,
his work
varies
from
surrealism
to
pseudo-impressionism
to bold
bright
graphics.
Jack is
a native
of
Nashville
and has
exhibited
his work
with
numerous
Nashville
galleries
over the
last two
and a
half
years.
