Solo Show Requirements:

The responsibilities of a solo artist at the Plowhaus are:

A $100 deposit is required to hold the space. This will be returned on the week of your hanging of your show.
in other words if you back out of your solo show you owe the Plowhaus a hundred dollars. ($100).

1. You are responsible to take all the nail and screws out of the walls putty them and paint and hang your show
If you need help please contact our Show & Volunteer Coordinator.

2. Provide the press release and posters, we have a recommended placement list for the poster but it’s your responsibility to ensure that the show is advertised. we have cards with your show on the back so if you want to use them please go ahead and take what you need.

3. We will send the press release out to our:

  • Media & Patrons lists twice and
  • A reminder on the Thurs. before the show to our patrons, and listservs.
  • All press releases need to be at the papers 2 weeks before publication to guarantee it being listed.
  • You should include jpgs of the work if you want them in the paper.

4. You're responsibilities for opening night are, to provide refreshments, drink and all that goes with it. cups, napkins, etc.
If we have some of those things there you can us them but you must leave what is left from what you have bought.
(servers are good. we do help.)

5. We don’t charge you for the space per se but, if anything is sold, Plowhaus will get 20% of the sale - up to a year of its being shown at the gallery. You are not required to sell - like if you want to do an installation that’s NFS.

6. You are given one week to hang your show. *The show is up for 2 weekends.

  • If you want to keep the gallery opened during the week let us know and we will put it in the press release.

7. You are responsible to keep the gallery opened Sat. 11-6pm and Sun 1-5pm and on your Opening night from 7-11pm.

8. You must take the show down Sunday night or Monday before noon. we will remove all screws and nails and fix all holes and paint.

All Plowhaus resources are available to assist you in your endeavor, and our Show & Volunteer Coordinator should be in touch to help you determine what assistance you will need.

 
 

Info for Solo interlude artists:

Plowhaus' interlude shows provide artists the opportunity to display a body of their work. Members of the Plowhaus Cooperative will be given first consideration when scheduling shows.

Your responsibilities as a solo artist at the Plowhaus are to:

1. Hang your own show during the week before your opening.

2. Provide your own flyers and posters. We'll be happy to recommend places to get them made and help you post them.

3. Prepare your own press release. We will send it out twice along with a reminder to patrons on the Thursday before the show. We'll need your press release at least 2 weeks before publication.

4. Provide food, drinks, cups, plates, napkins, etc. for opening night. It's a good idea to bring servers (we'll help out).

5. Pay to Plowhaus a 20% commission on any sales made as a result of showing with us. Checks for purchase of your work should be made out to the Plowhaus and we will write you a check for your 80% of sales.

6. Deposit $100 to reserve the space for your show which will be returned to you the week of your hanging show. If you must cancel, we will return your deposit if you give us 2 months notice.

7. Keep the gallery open Saturdays from 11am - 6pm and Sundays from 1 - 5pm and on opening night from 7-10pm. The show will be up for 3 weekends. It's fine if you want to keep the gallery open during the week as well. If so, be sure to include this information in your press release.

8. Take your show down Sunday night or Monday at the latest. You must remove all screws and nails, plug the holes with putty and touch up the paint. We provide the putty and paint.
